Many thanks to Kanisile for allowing me to post her beautiful picture and apologies for misspelling her name. Looking forward to doing some more work together in the future.

A little about my process
Here’s a quick look at some of my process. Lighting and post production are key to producing the final image. In post i try to retain as much realism and detail whilst still stamping my “look” on the image. Getting rid of any obvious distractions so the viewer can be drawn in to the eye, the focal point of this picture. Also, I like enhance certain features that give the face character such as wrinkles and stubble in this case. Jimmy was a real sport during our two hour shoot. We explored many different looks and expressions from moody to playful. Its always more fun when you have a subject that is prepared to work with you.
If you have any questions about this post or any other, don’t hesitate to ask…also if you have any pictures you want to share feel free to do so and say a little something about your process.
Cheers,
Seun

Untitled…
This is actually my first go at a little compositing of the background. I had wanted a little more texture than just a plain black background so I found some textures from a wall and added it to give a little more atmosphere and drama…
Smoking with Lee…
Its been a little while my last post so I thought I go through and have look at some things we shot a couple of months ago that I’m still getting through. Here we used a combination of the beauty dish, strip lights and a reflector to try give a contrasty look whilst opening up the shadows….post done in photoshop cs5 and Nik.

Jimmy no.3…
Another go at a portrait I made earlier in the year with “tattoo face” Jimmy. Its been a little while since I’ve looked at this work. I spent a little extra time on the editing, trying to keep the whole moody thing going. As I’ve said before Jimmy himself is actually a nice guy despite his outward appearance. I would take this opportunity to thank him for the shoot and if I ever see him again I would love him to have this print.
Thanks and as always feel free to ask me anything about my work…
Over the weekend I went to a barbecue in London hosted by one of my oldest friends Simon. I met some new friends and with that used the opportunity to make some quick portraits. I tried to have the picture illustrate their personality. Here’s a couple of my favourites. There are a few more to follow soon…
